CLEGHORN road race
This annual Wisport race is a favorite. Held in rural Wi, near Eau Claire, it has a few hills, some nice rollers and has the Cleghorn Lions county fair just across the street.
I opted out of the Duluth MNSCS race also on sunday. But 35 south traffic on a sunday didnt seem desirable. Also, Federer was playing at 330 and wanted to catch some of that.
A 2 lap 42 mile course with large Brones and Spring Street teams kept the action high most of the day. Fast from the gun. Attack after attack.
Middle of lap one saw Mark Brone get a gap and later joined by Borgenheimer and another dude. Spring Street wanted Tristan to have a chance at the win, so they put on a chase. Dan B and the other dude were dropped by Brone and a harder chase by Spring Street, myself and maybe another closed the gap. But we were running out of course. I helped chase a bit. Wanted a good effert for the day.
We didnt catch Mark. He won by 10 meters. I ran out of gas and strolled in around 14th.
Went over to the fair and got my jar of local honey. Same family has been selling honey for many years there. This is a cool video. Saw him on David Letterman...
Stop global capitalism. World trade. Its polluting the seas. But suburban people are deaf dumb and blind. CHEQ this SATURDAY ! Biggest or second biggest mtn bike race of the year. Can u dig it?
